4. Do you know what you want? You should make a list of priorities for what you want in a home. What factors are important to you? Neighborhood safety? School quality? Square footage? Local parks? Consider these and other factors so you can find the home that is right for you.

5. Do you have a realtor? Hiring a real estate agent is the single best thing you can do when you start searching for a house. They can guide you along the process, negotiate prices with the seller and much more. They can even give you suggestions and advice on buying your home.
